Universal Music Publishing Group Latin America named Publisher of the Year
Universal Music Publishing Group Latin America celebrates 11 wins at the 13th annual El Premio ASCAP Awards, including Publisher of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
The El Premio ASCAP awards were held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan on April 5, 2005. The star-studded gala honored the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP’s most performed songs in Latin Music in 2004.
UMPG, Latin America received special recognition with a tie for Publisher of the Year, by accumulating the greatest number of songs on the charts.
Rudy Perez was presented with the Songwriter of the Year award for his ten award-winning songs. As a testament to his writing strength and endurance, Perez has won this honor several times. This is the fourth consecutive year Perez has won the prestigious award. Billboard chart-topping artist Jennifer Peña performed as part of ASCAP’s special tribute to Perez.
